Our Title

                 

We eventually changed our font again to a basic 'times new roman' this was because we were unsure on the typewriter font. we then decided to change the 'o' in the title to a larger size with the cross in the middle. this was not only for effect but the font of the 'o' symbolises child like handwriting and the cross within the 'o' symbolises religion which is most often associated with possession.

Producing Companies

We decided that our two producing companies for our teaser trailer would be Warner Bros. Pictures and Dark Castle Entertainment. We chose these production companies as they have worked on the 'Orphan' and this was one of our inspirations for our film trailer. 

Ending of Trailer Shot

We have decided to use this shot of Harvey for the ending of our trailer as it shows him giving his Mum a cuddle, however he then looks up to the camera which challenges the typical stereotype of a happy young boy as he looks as if he is evil and scary to the audience.

After researching into children's drawings in films, we decided to attempt and recreate this effect. We wanted the drawings to appear child-like as he was only a boy, however we drew it ourselves in order to have the right picture. We wanted a person to be standing up and the other laying down. As these shots would be after harvey returns, it shows the possession in him and what he is planning to do, which would be getting revenge and killing his kidnappers. This shows the boys innocence as drawing it typical for a child.

Photoraphs of Drawings We Have Created

We drew a picture ourselves which would typically be a drawing from a child. We wanted to show someone standing up and someone on the ground, implying that they are dead. We will then get harvey to draw over the person on the floor with a red pen. We are planning on using this idea because it is twisted and although it uses typical childlike images, the idea of death is something a child would not think about when drawing. It therefore contrasts the ideas of innocence and evil.

This is a basic poster idea we would like to use for our teaser trailer. we think that although it uses all the information we need, it still needs a little development.

Filming - Day 2

Research

We did not feel satisfied with our font so continued researching for other fonts. we came across the poster for the film Zodiac and and liked the font that was used. We then discovered that there were two different zodiac films with similar fonts used.

After discovering a new and similar font to these, this is now our new font:

We specifically like this font because it has elements of religion, which leads to possession, having huge connection to our teaser trailer idea.

Idea for Website Design

This is the website that we have wanted to create since we began our media coursework. However we were not happy with the outcome as the quality was not great.

Other Locations

After filming initially, we thought about trying out another location in Sevenoaks.

This is the empty swing shot that we will most likely use in our tralier.

Using GarageBand

We pieced together two sounds to create what we wanted, adding a drone to the sound of the young boy singing 'teddy bears picnic'.

Day 1 of Filming

We were extremely happy with all of our shots when we filmed, however the continuity is not the same within the shots and the lighting changed so we will have to re film it all and make lighting our key issue to focus on.

First Filming

We did some filming to create the 'home video' effect. We filmed this off an iphone and a better quality camera, we felt the iphone shots fitted what we wanted better, however the quality wasn't really good enough so we will be using the better quality one.

Lighting

For our teaser trailer, there will be a lot of lighting involved to create the perfect atmosphere epecially creating suspense for the audience. As it will also be during sunset, almost at darkness, we will most definitely have to rely on lighting. This will be to light up the mist we create, also to light up our subject, the young boy.

We will need to use the typical set up which is used in studio photography. This is because the lighting will have to be equal all over the subject. the set up will look like this:

Creating Fog

In order to fiilm our media, we need fog during either sunrise or sunset, however it is unlikely that it will always be foggy when filming so we have decided to look into other options. These are:

Smoke Spray in a Can

This is smoke from a can where somebody sprays it and it creates the desired effect. This may be beneficial as it is so cheap, only being £6.99.

Fog Machine

Another option that we have is to use a fog machine, although they are expensive, we are in contact with someone who has one which makes it easier for us. It can also make our teaser trailer better and more realistic.

Sunset

We looked into times that the sun is currently setting, this is so that we are able to create the right atmosphere for our teaser trailer.
